I pinned this ‘fail proof pizza dough and cheesy garlic breadsticks‘ to my Pinterest board a little while ago, and decided to make it the other night in spite of my head feeling like it was going to explode. We made a few changes, freshly ground wheat flour* (doesn’t that sound nice?), but chintzed it on the cheese. I had regular old cheddar, dried Parm in a jar, and um, string cheese. Yup. I am a culinary master. Oh yeah, and I mixed dried garlic powder with the melted butter even though I had real garlic in the cupboard. But c’mon, give me a break. I was pretty sure my sinus infection was going to kill me at that point, so I want bonus points for even cooking at all.
Even with my lazy changes you guys, it was delicious. I doubled the recipe and made four pizzas (not huge, as my pizza stone is on the smaller side), but everyone practically inhaled them all. We dipped the sticks in some Hunt’s marinara sauce I had in the storage room. I felt like we were eating like kings.
Anyway, what I’m saying is, go make it.
* I have not been eating gluten free lately. It is silly because it gives me stomach aches but not bad enough aches to make me want to stop. However. As soon as I can breathe again and move my eyeballs without crying, I’m going to start the Eat to Live program. Who is with me? (Make this cheesy bread stuff first, finish your Halloween candy, and then we’ll start.)
