Free sunglasses (or Rx glasses) for you

Firmoo glasses

My eyes are pretty sensitive, and I don’t know how people drive around outside without sunglasses on. I get an immediate headache if I try — especially in the winter when the sun is bouncing off all the white snow and glaring right into my peepers.

The weird thing is, though, that I have really crummy night vision. I hate driving after dark. Especially down our little country roads that don’t have any lines painted down the middle, much less any gutters or sidewalks (ha ha). I always feel like I’m going to careen right into the oncoming traffic lone car.

Right, so. I have this odd assortment of sun glasses stashed all over the place. In my purse, in the glove box, in the glasses-holder thing in the van, hanging near the back door, and oddly, a pair in my sock drawer. They’re all sunglasses purchased from various gas stations or big box stores for no more than $5, because I will either lose them, sit on them, or a child will snap them in two.

A while back my sister in law organized a co-op for some really lovely high end glasses but I was like, “No way. I will sit on them and break them and be super sad.” Right after that, we went camping with my sister and the cheap pair of sunglasses I was wearing broke right on my face. Seriously. All I was doing was wearing them. I think this proves that my neurotic obsession with my head size is legit. I bet my tiny-headed sisters have never broken glasses with the sheer force of their skulls.

I grabbed a pair I’d left at her house that her daughter was playing with and wore those for the rest of the trip. Like all cheap sunglasses, they hurt my head. So when I got home and read an email from Firmoo offering to send me a free pair to review I nearly typed in all caps YES PLEASE.

I chose this pair in the tortoise shell color (now only available in the sunny yellow I was almost daring enough to order). I’ve been wearing them for a couple of weeks and I have this to say:

  • I like my sunglasses huge, and these are huge.
  • These are comfortable. They don’t squeeze my head, and don’t hurt my face. They don’t stay on top of my head very well, though.
  • I have accidentally sat on them 3 times and they are none the worse for wear. What are they making these things out of? Titanium?
  • I have dropped them at least twice. Once in the kitchen on the tile floor and once in a parking lot at the farmer’s market. I’m shocked that they didn’t break.

They feel really light weight, and I’m sure the 3 year old could bust them if he put his mind to it, but so far so good.

I don’t need a prescription, but you can get any of their glasses made with your Rx easy-peasy.

Now, I don’t just share the free stuff I get to rub it in your faces. You can get a free pair of glasses from Firmoo, too! Prescription or not – if you’re a first time buyer, go here: Free Glasses and pick out your frames, they have tons to choose from. Once you add the glasses to your cart, you can enter your prescription details. All you do is pay shipping to you, how cool is that?

You can even upload a photo of yourself to virtually try on the glasses before you order. The glasses come with a case and a cleaning cloth… if I could only remember to put them in the case, I might manage to keep them unbroken and whole for longer than a few months.

WOW. Free PRESCRIPTION sunglasses. I always wrote sunglasses off as something that would never happen for me , because there are so many other things vying for my dollars above them on the list! Awesome!

Yay! So glad this helped you out — I’m always nervous when I say ‘okay’ to reviews. Don’t want to irritate the masses, you know? Let me know how they work out for you…
