There was no way people could deposit checks via their phones in the 90s, so it’s great you can do so now. It is more convenient because you don’t always have to line up at your local bank.

Mobile check deposits have limits; all responsible customers must know not to go over them. Find out here exactly what they are.

What Are The Limits in Mobile Check Deposits?

Mobile check deposit limits will vary according to bank, usually measured daily and monthly. Discover each bank’s limits below.

U.S. Bank

If your account is new or you’ve just opened within the last 90 days, the limit could be as low as $50. For personal accounts, the limit varies from $500 to $2,500 per day, depending on how long your account has been open.

Wells Fargo

The daily limit for this bank is $2,500, while the 30-day limit is $5,000. You will see your mobile check deposit limit for each eligible account in the app.

Bank of America

This bank usually sets monthly limits depending on when you opened your account. If your account is less than 3 months old, your limit is $2,500 per month. For those 3 months old or above, your limit is $10,000 per month.

This bank also has a Preferred Rewards program, which offers limits of $25,000 monthly for accounts fewer than 3 months opened and $50,000 for those more than 3 months in existence.

Capital One

According to their website, this bank has generous daily and monthly limits. According to a Capital one branch banker, the standard limit is $5,000 daily.

Chase

This bank’s mobile check deposit limit is $2,000 per day and $5,000 per month for all customers, regardless of how long the account has existed.

Citibank

For customers whose accounts are less than 6 months old, your limit is $500 per day and $1,500 monthly. If it has been active for 6 months or more, your limit is $1,000 per day and $3,000 monthly.

BB&T

If you opened your account 90 days ago or less, the limit is $500 per day and $1,000 per 30 days. If the account is at least 90 days old or more, the limit is $2,500 per day and $5,000 per 30 days.

This bank also provides a higher limit of $25,000 per month for BB&T wealth management clients.

PNC Bank

This bank’s limits are $1,000 per day and $2,500 per month for accounts less than 30 days old. If, on the other hand, your account exists for 30 days or more, the limits are $2,500 per day and $5,000 per month.

SunTrust Bank

If you opened your account 6 months ago or less, your limits are $1,000 per check and $5,000 per month. For above-6-month accounts, your limit is $8,000 per month.

SunTrust private clients have a higher limit of $25,000 monthly.

TD Bank

The mobile check deposit limits in this bank are more detailed:

Check Deposit Limits of Mobile-Only Banks

Nowadays, more and more people rely on mobile banking, and you need higher deposit limits since, usually, these institutions don’t have brick-and-mortar branches for you to visit. See below the limits these banks offer.

Final Thoughts

You should monitor your check deposits and their amounts to avoid exceeding the limits. It will help to know your chosen bank’s regulations regarding them.

Whichever ones you have, though, regular deposits will save you the time you would otherwise spend going to your bank’s branch. Every checking account holder should avail of them.
